Operating ethically

while minimizing our

environmental impact

Responsible operations

In a world where natural disasters and animal extinctions are all too common, we need to do our part by minimizing our footprint on our planet. Firstly, we set ambitious decarbonization targets and we measure our carbon footprint progress. By continuing to improve our energy efficiency, using renewable energy, and optimizing our distribution network.

Furthermore, we focus on sustainable logistics. We commit to Operation Clean Sweep to limit the loss of microplastics in the environment. Lastly, we strive for a safe, collaborative environment that incorporates ethical behavior, caring for each other’s wellbeing, and respect for all aspects of diversity.

Operation Clean Sweep (OCS)

As a recycling and compounding company, we are acutely aware of the environmental risks posed by unintentional pellet, flake, and powder loss. In response, Ravago is fully committed to Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS)—a global program designed to prevent plastic material leakage into the environment. This commitment is a key element of our Sustainability Pillar: Responsible Operations, which supports our vision of a world where plastic polymers are handled responsibly and sustainably throughout the value chain.

Our manufacturing sites and major logistics hubs worldwide have implemented OCS protocols and conduct risk assessments to identify and eliminate potential spill points. These measures are not limited to our own operations; we are extending the program’s principles to our logistics partners and suppliers. Our expectations are formalized in both our Environmental Policy and our Ravago OCS Policy, which apply across all entities, and are reinforced through our Supplier Code of Conduct, ensuring alignment throughout our supply chain.

To embed OCS principles from the ground up, we have introduced OCS Engineering Guidelines that inform the design of new manufacturing areas, warehouses, and processes. These guidelines ensure that potential risks of microplastic loss are addressed proactively at the earliest stages of development.

In parallel with our implementation efforts, we are actively monitoring the evolving regulatory landscape—particularly the upcoming EU regulations on REACH microplastic & pellet loss. We believe that establishing a clear, industry-aligned methodology for pellet loss accounting is a critical first step before setting group-wide performance targets. Our internal OCS working groups are currently preparing for this next phase, and we are positioning ourselves to swiftly align with any forthcoming legislation.

Moreover, our Operation Clean Sweep certification scheme not only drives internal accountability but also supports compliance with both existing and anticipated regulatory frameworks related to microplastic containment.
