Responsible Operations – examples

Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is an initiative to minimize and prevent microplastic losses into the environment. As a sustainable partner, Ravago commits to this initiative on a global level in order to create a world where plastic polymers are responsibly handled while minimizing the impact on the environment. Ravago OCS policy was published in May 2024.

• TCL Hunt, a Ravago distributor in the polymers market got OCS certified in 2024.
• In our warehouse in Terneuzen (Netherlands), we installed an OCS blowing tunnel to blow off pellets of the roofs of trucks that loaded in bulk before exiting the warehouse. This initiative prevents around 65gr of pellets per truck from ending up in the environment.
  
  
   
• The Manufacturing plants in Europe are implementing the OCS requirements to get certified in the coming years.

Construction of two windmills on Ravago land provides green electricity to our production facility in Arendonk (Belgium).

• Commissioned in December 2022
• Windmills generate ~40% (15 GWh) of the annual electricity consumption (35-40 GWh) of the production facility. This is the equivalent energy consumption of 6,900 households/year.
• 2,550 tonnes CO2/year savings.

The RBS plant in Kings Lynn (United Kingdom) consumes 10-20% of green energy, generated by a local windmill.

Our ambition is to reach 10% on site renewable energy consumption.
